LIS Congress 2010

The information age is now at its peakest. And the role of librarians and other information professionals become more significant. It is a moral obligation to know more about the latest trends and developments that concerns the field.

Now on its 47th year, the UP Library and Information Science Students' Association (UPLISSA) presents the premier gathering of LIS students and practitioners, the LIS Congress 2009. This year's LIS Congress with theme "LIS Congress 2010. Libraries Moving Forward>>Smarter Solutions for the Information Age" is loaded with topics such as Library Promotions, Learning Commons and the new BLIS curriculum by Prof. Salvacion Arlante, University Librarian of the UP Main Library, Ms. Sharon Ma. Esposo, UP Engineering Library II College Librarian, and Dr. Luis Gatmaitan, author of more than 30 storybooks for children and recipient of the Palanca Hall of Fame in 2005 and other experts in the field.
